After lunch visit two of Egypt’s most iconic Temples.

Karnak Temple was built over more than a thousand years by generations of Pharaohs. the great “Hypostyle Hall” is an incredible forest of giant pillars, covering an area larger than the whole of Notre Dame Cathedral. One of Egypt’s more prized attractions, Karnak is a spectacular complex of sanctuaries, kiosks, pylons and obelisks. Simply put, everything here is on a gigantic scale.

Finish at Luxor Temple, a archaeological gem built over 3,000 years ago. Marvel at the soaring columns and colossal statues, adorned with intricate hieroglyphics and reliefs depicting scenes from ancient Egyptian mythology and history. The Avenue of Sphinxes, stretching over a mile in length, connects Luxor Temple to its sister temple, Karnak.

Today you will visit the West Bank of Luxor attractions.

The Valley of the Kings is an ancient burial ground that served as the final resting place for pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom era. Spanning over 500 years, from the 16th to the 11th century BCE, it contains around 63 tombs, including Tutankhamun's famous tomb.

Hatshepsut Temple, part of Valley of the Queens is quite like nothing else among Egypt’s famous temples. Built during the reign of Queen Hatshepsut in the 15th century BC and dedicated to the sun god, Amun-Ra, the temple’s backdrop of towering cliffs makes for an impressive sight.

Continue sailing along the Nile to Edfu.

Edfu Temple was built to honour Horus, the falcon god. One of the unique parts of this temple is how important the inscriptions are. Not only are they beautiful, but they provide a very crisp view into religion, temples, and life in ancient Egypt.

After lunch visit Kom Ombo Temple, a unique and somewhat uncommon double temple. One half of the temple is dedicated to the crocodile god, Sobek, who represents fertility. The other half is dedicated to the falcon god, Horus.

The temple is easily accessed and is only short walk from your river boat.

From here, we continue toward our final destination of the cruise.

Overnight Aswan

While in Aswan you will get to see some of the areas best sights.

Start with a visit to the High Dam. This remarkable engineering feat was built to control the Nile River's flow, provide electricity, and increase agricultural productivity in the region, contributing to Egypt's economic development.

The Unfinished Obelisk is a massive ancient monument dating back to the reign of Queen Hatshepsut in the 18th dynasty. Despite being abandoned due to a crack in the stone, it provides valuable insights into the craftsmanship of the time.

Next, you’ll jump aboard a motor boat for the short journey to Philae Temple on the island of Agilkia. Dedicated to the goddess Isis, the temple is a testament to Egypt's rich cultural heritage. You’ll hear stories from your Egyptologist guide amidst stunning columns and intricate hieroglyphics that adorn the walls throughout.

A relaxing day sailing on a felucca while exploring the waterways and hidden spots along the Nile

There is no better way to embrace the beauty of the Nile River than on a traditional wooden sailing boat. Sit back and take the tranquil surroundings as you gentle glide through the water. Today will also include a stop at the Botanical Gardens on Kitchen Island.

Today you have the option to visit one of Egypt’s most prized attractions. Abu Simbel is a famous UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its colossal rock-cut temples. Built by Ramses II, these iconic structures stand as a testament to ancient Egyptian civilization, attracting visitors worldwide with their impressive architecture and rich historical significance. The two colossal temples greeting visitors are dedicated to Pharaoh himself and his beloved wife, Queen Nefertari.

After lunch you will begin your cruise back toward Luxor.

If you missed Kom Ombo on the way to Aswan, you have the chance to see it again.

While you may be seeing some of the famous temples a second time round on your cruise, you also might have the opportunity to see each under a different light and new perspective. Karnak and Luxor are both stunning after dark when the walls of the temples are lit up, exposing an enchanting scene.
